This guide explains how discarding products and orders works, how it affects reports and inventory counting, and what future improvements might be available.
1. What Happens When a Product Is Discarded?
- When a product is discarded, it will not automatically return to inventory counting.
- It will not be available for the rest of the day.
2. What Happens When an Order Is Discarded?
- If an order is discarded on a table that was opened today, it will not be reported.
- If an order is discarded on a table that has been open for more than one day (i.e., has crossed a settlement period), the discard will appear on reports.
3. How Does Discarding Affect Reports?
- Z-Report and Settlement Excel Report:
- Discarded order lines are displayed with a negative amount and quantity.
- In the Z-Report, there is a line labeled “Discards/Cancellations/Corrections for the current period”, showing the total amount of discarded products and orders.
4. Do Discarded Products Show as a Negative on Reports the Next Day?
- If an order is discarded on an open order from a previous period, it will appear on the report.
- If the order is discarded within the same day, it will not appear on the reports.
5. Is It Possible to Remove a Product from an Order Without Affecting Inventory and Reports?
- Currently, there is no solution for accidental entries that do not affect inventory counting.
- Reports are not affected if the table has not been open over a previous period.
- We are continuously working to improve the product, and a solution for this may be available in the future.
