If you have an iPad which isn't printing guest orders

Follow these steps to resolve printer issues quickly, without contacting Favrit Support.

1. Make sure you are using a compatible printer and app

Your printer must be a either a

  • Star Micronics MCP31L BK/WT - connected with an USB cable
  • Star Micronics MCP31LB BK/WT - connected either using Bluetooth or a USB cable

If you don't have any of these, check out what printers are compatible.

2. Checking power and paper

Go to the general printer troubleshooting guide before continuing.

3. Check your app

  1. You must download the Favrit Admin app to print. Using a web browser (Safari, Chrome) won't work.
  2. In the app's top-left corner, click the printer icon.
  3. Ensure all settings are correctly set up.
  4. Click "Test print".
  5. Click "Start printing orders".
  6. Test printing again (reprinting an existing order should work).

4. Check your internet connection

  • Testing your internet connection by going to another webpage than Favrit, for example a newspaper.
  • Disconnect from your network and re-connect.
  • Try turning your computer/tablet and router/other internet equipment off and on again.
  • Check other devices connected to the same network.
  • Connect to another network, for example by sharing internet from your phone.

Contact your IT department or internet service provider if you can't get internet access on any of your devices.

5. Continue based on if you connect with USB or Bluetooth

USB CABLE

  1. Unplug your printer from the tablet.
  2. Unplug your printer from power.
  3. Wait 10 seconds.
  4. Plug your printer into your tablet.
  5. Turn on the printer (plug in power).

BLUETOOTH (WIRELESS)

  1. Go to the Home Screen, click on Settings > Bluetooth and ensure that Bluetooth is turned on and that your printer is "Connected". Test again if something changed.
  2. Go to Home Screen > Settings > Bluetooth > click on the (i) next to the printer and click "Forget this device".
  3. Opne the back cover and click the reset button (must use a small, thin object). Hold for 20 seconds, turn off printer, turn on printer.
  4. In Settings > Bluetooth, wait until the printer is found. Make sure it's connected, before returning to the order app and follow step 3 in this article again.
