PLU (Price look-up)

Use PLU to search for products in ePOS, and to get a seamless integration with Gastroplanner.

PLU (Price Look-Up) is a code—usually numeric—used to identify products in a POS system.

Using PLU is optional, but if you have an integration with Gastroplanner Inventory, we recommend setting one to ensure products sync correctly.

Defining the PLU

  1. Go to Admin > Menu and select a product.
  2. Scroll down to the field called PLU.
  3. Enter the code you want to set as the PLU.

We recommend creating a consistent PLU system to make codes easier to remember. For example:

  • Beer: 1XXXX

  • Wine: 2XXXX

  • Alcohol-free: 3XXXX

The PLU can include both numbers and letters.

PLU and multiple product sizes

If a product has several sizes, the PLU will include an extra number for each size.

Example:
If you have a tap beer available in 0.25 L and 0.5 L, and the product PLU is set to 1001:

  • The first size will have PLU 1001-1

  • The second size will have PLU 1001-2

If you later rearrange, remove, or add sizes, each size will keep its original PLU.
This ensures correct syncing with Gastroplanner Inventory.

Syncing Products with the Gastroplanner Inventory Integration

If you use the Gastroplanner Inventory integration, we recommend setting the PLU for all products.

Make sure the PLU in Favrit matches the PLU for the same product in Gastroplanner. If the codes do not match, the products will not sync correctly.

Products from a master menu

If you have set up a location with a master menu, and this is shared to other locations, define the PLU on the master menu. The integration with Gastroplanner should be set up on the locations where the sales are done.

Search in ePOS

You can search for products in ePOS using their PLU.
